Responsible consumption and production

Responsible consumption and production

This goal calls for us to waste less of the earth’s resources and produce only what we need, without too much excess.

Sustainable development is based on the circular economy, an economy that aims to maintain the value of products, materials and resources for as long as possible and to minimise the production of waste. It therefore means reducing the use of natural resources, reducing plastic, toxic and polluting waste, eliminating the production of disposable items and reducing waste (waste of all kinds, including food).

Today mankind uses more than the planet can offer: everything that man consumes in a year, the planet takes a year and a half to regenerate and reproduce. The planet is having too much trouble keeping up with human consumption.

Actions such as recycling, saving or reusing resources are responsible consumption actions.
